INDIE 80’s is a collective of musicians who formed a band with a common goal in mind – to play a set of songs by artists from the 1980’s New Wave/Indie/ Alternative scene.
“We want to give our audiences something different to listen to by playing well-known songs that you rarely hear played on radio or in a live situation anymore” Gary Smith – lead vocals. The band like to play an honest version of each song they play, without backing tracks or the heavy production that was so prominent on a lot of 80’s recordings. Formed with some of Portsmouths most experienced musicians you can expect to hear songs by artists such as Elvis Costello, Japan, Echo and the Bunnymen, The The, The Mighty Wah! and many more.
